Meet Your Doula
Founder of First Born Doula Services
Hi, I’m Taylour D. Jackson, founder of First Born Doula Services.
I’m a Detroit native whose journey has taken me through science, healthcare training, entrepreneurship, and a deep interest in pregnancy, birth, and family support.
I attended North Carolina A&T State University, where I earned a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry with a minor in Psychology. I also became certified in phlebotomy through Phlebotomy Express Training Center LLC.
I’m also a barber, and at the center of everything I do is something simple: I enjoy helping people feel good, feel cared for, and feel heard.
My personal philosophy
“I didn’t put the baby in there, so I can’t get the baby out. I am here to assist by ensuring you are as comfortable as possible and making sure you feel heard.”
My inspiration
Pregnancy, birth, and babies have always been subjects I found myself wanting to learn more about.
What became even more important to me was seeing how easily someone’s voice can get lost while navigating healthcare.
Birth is a deeply personal experience. Sometimes medical intervention is necessary, but families still deserve to understand what is happening, ask questions, communicate their preferences, and feel respected throughout the process.
Helping people is something that brings me joy. Through First Born Doula Services, I want to help families feel more prepared, supported, and confident during one of the most significant experiences of their lives.
“You deserve to have a voice in your experience.”

“Strength is not walking alone. Sometimes strength is knowing who should walk beside you.”
Who I want to serve
A major part of First Born Doula Services is supporting Black women as they bring life into the world.
Taylour’s work is grounded in education, advocacy, preparation, and helping clients feel comfortable speaking up about their questions, concerns, preferences, and experiences.
